Signs & Symptoms
The following signs and symptoms may or may not be present:
- Wound may have an object still in (do not remove)
- Bleeding at site of wound
- Painful
- Pale
- Cold
- Clammy
How to treat BURNS
Apply Gloves
Apply GLOVES before attempting any bleeding control it can be found in the GO PACK
Apply BANDAGE
Apply the bandage directly over the gauze and secure in place
Apply Pressure
Continue to hold direct pressure if the bleeding does not stop
Elevate Limb
Elevate the injured limb if possible
Pack Amputation
If Place amputated digit in plastic bag
Then place plastic bag into GO PACK with ice in the go pack not in the plastic
Go To Hospital
Send amputation with patient to hospital
